IBM Verse On-Premises 1.0.5 disponibile con molte novità !

IBM nella giornata di oggi ha rilasciato VOP 1.0.5 per il download, il relativo part number è CNWQ5ML .

Vi racconto di questa versione perchè porta in dote una lista di nuove funzioanlità veramente importanti:

• When a user files an email, Verse On-Premises can suggest folders to use based upon the user's previous selections and content contained in the email.
• When composing an email, a user has the option to mark the email as confidential in the subject line.
• The email compose window has a minimize and restore button that enables users to view other emails while composing a new message. This enhancement eliminates the need for users to save an email being composed as a draft while checking other email.
• The option to empty the trash is readily available at the top of the folder or inbox.
• The calendar can display a second time zone in the right margin, providing quick access to meeting times for two different zones.
• The calendar view can be printed.
• Click to chat capabilities are enhanced with an option to register a custom extension for a user-preferred chat client.
• Extensibility and customization enhancements that enable clients to tailor the experience to meet the needs of the organization include:Color and theme modifications
• Support for adding a submenu in the navigation bar
• Support for optional integration with Gravatar for display pictures in the Important to Me bar, and Business Cards
• Calendar preview capability enables the administrator to configure Verse On-Premises to preview the ongoing enhancements to the calendar experience. This capability is off by default.

In particolare , le mie features preferite sono le novità  riguardo al calendario , la possibilità di personalizzazione (colore temi con css) e l'integrazione del servizio gravatar per la creazione delle business card .

Dopo l'inserimento del relativo notes.ini 

VOP_GK_FEATURE_182=1

il server vop controllerà se i contatti importanti hanno una foto sul servizio gravatar , e se presente mostreranno la sua foto, rendendo non necessaria l'integrazione con connections profiles per questo servizio.

Nello screenshot sotto potete vedere la mia foto e quella del servizio Wordpress , risolte direttamente da gravatar, senza integrazione Connections.

Il secondo notes.ini utile da saper è quello relativo alla attivazione della nuova visualizzazione della preview eventi calendario:

VOP_GK_FEATURE_168=1.

L'ottima notizia per i clienti è che VOP 1.0.5  è compatibile con Domino 9.0.1 Fp9+ , quindi se non avete ancora aggiornato a V10 potete aggiornare senza problemi :

Red Hat Enterprise Linux® and Windows™ Server 64-bit systems are supported.

• IBM® Domino® V9.01, Feature Pack 9, or later
• IBM Connections™ V5.5, or later

Se avete un server Domino V901FP9 + dovete assolutamente aggioranare o installare VOP 1.0.5 perchè ne vale la pena!

P.S Non finisce qui ! A breve (entro fine 2018)  è in programma VOP 1.0.6 con il tanto richiesto (anche dal sottoscritto) supporto alla gestione degli inviti alle riunuioni in formato ICS !
